Available on: Dish Network, Cable

VOOM HD Networks was developed by Rainbow Media to meet the growing demand for quality high definition programming, building on Rainbow Media's history of original programming innovation. VOOM was originally launched in 2003 as an independent DBS service, specializing in the delivery of unique high definition programming. Late entry in the already well established DBS market, combined with internal management problems led to VOOM discontinuing its DBS service in April 2005. The Rainbow 1 DBS satellite and orbital slot was purchased shortly after by Echostar, which became VOOM's exclusive U.S. satellite distributor of the unique VOOM programming. Today, VOOM programming is available on Dish Network and also select cable vision systems.

VOOM produces 15 unique channels in high definition that are available nowhere else.

Latest Highlights
Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? FOX 8:00 pm  ET

Want to put that know-it-all friend or neighbor in his place? Sit him down for a few rounds of this funny hit game show, in which adults try to answer questions drawn from actual elementary-school textbooks. Jeff Foxworthy is back as host as the show returns with a batch of new episodes.

Privileged CW 8:00 pm  ET

Megan (JoAnna Garcia) unintentionally discovers a shocking secret from Laurel's (Anne Archer) past while compiling research for a proposed biography of her. Tension builds between the twins as Sage (Ashley Newbrough) tries to launch her modeling career, and Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) chooses to focus on her schoolwork. Kathy Najimy guest stars in "All About Defining Yourself."

Inside PBS 10:00 pm  ET

As the Rolling Stones stage a free concert on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach for an estimated crowd of 1.5 million people, filmmakers chronicle the herculean challenges faced by crew members in charge of this massive event, which involves transporting more than 200 tons of equipment and creating posh dressing rooms for the talent, not to mention somehow controlling hordes of screaming fans.

Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back SPIKE 6:00 pm  ET

Darker in tone than either "Star Wars" or "The Return of the Jedi," this 1980 drama follows Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to the home world of Jedi Master Yoda (performed by Frank Oz), where he learns the ways of the Force and faces his inner demons. In the meantime, Han Solo and Princess Leia (Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher) dodge bounty hunters in a chase that ultimately reunites them with Luke, who discovers a terrifying secret.

Beowulf SHO 7:00 pm  ET

Director Robert Zemeckis ("Back to the Future") gives more sophistication to motion-capture animation, which he also used in "The Polar Express," with this unique visualization of the classic poem. Ray Winstone ("The Departed") plays the title hero who comes to the rescue of a kingdom attacked by a monster (Crispin Glover). As good as she looks in real life, Angelina Jolie is a stunner in her representation of the enemy's mother.

Exorcist: The Beginning AMC 8:00 pm  ET

The two sequels to 1973's infamous "The Exorcist" were mediocre, but they're Oscar material compared to this abysmal prequel, which we're tempted to nickname "How Father Merrin Got His Groove Back." We meet the aging priest played by Max von Sydow in the original as a young guy -- played by Stellan Skarsgard -- who's disillusioned with the church and working as an archaeologist in a remote part of Africa. There, he has his first encounter with demonic possession and rediscovers his faith. Too bad he has to deal with such a crummy script and so much gratuitous gore to get there.

NASCAR Racing ESPN 8:00 pm  ET

NASCAR returns to the iconic Daytona International Speedway for what promises to be hot and steamy Independence Day weekend fronted by tonight's Nationwide event, the Winn Dixie 250. Denny Hamlin won this race last year on the 2.5-mile superspeedway, holding off teammate Kyle Busch in an exciting green-white-checkered finish that gave Joe Gibbs Racing a 1-2 finish and continued dominance of the series. It also gave Hamlin his third Nationwide win of the year.

The Chopping Block NBC 8:00 pm  ET

With only four couples left, the contestants are challenged first to whip up Italian dishes prepared in 20 minutes and cooked in five, then face a second challenge in which they serve lunch to Italian customers including Vincent Pastore ("The Sopranos"), Federico Castelluccio and Mario Batali. Marco Pierre White stars.

Dog Whisperer NGC 9:00 pm  ET

Dasher, an Italian greyhound mix, has become so possessive over bones and toys that he has bitten his owner several times. Riley, a mastiff, is a sweetheart in the house but badly misbehaves outside. A tiny Yorkshire terrier named Fosse takes over her owner's morning routine by wildly attacking the electrical cords of the iron and other household appliances.

Everybody Hates Chris CW 9:00 pm  ET

Chris (Tyler James Williams) sneaks out to the movies with his friends and witnesses a shooting outside the theater, but when a reward is offered to witnesses, he can't decide what's the best way to claim the money. Julius and Rochelle (Terry Crews, Tichina Arnold) go to a Broadway musical for their anniversary, but the evening ends badly after he accidentally hits a member of the cast in "Everybody Hates Snitches."

The Game CW 9:30 pm  ET

OK, everybody out! Malik (Hosea Chanchez) is the target of ribbing from his teammates after Robin (Robin Givens) insinuates on national television that they're breaking up because he's gay. Imagine his surprise when he learns there is someone on the team who is in the closet. Derwin (Pooch Hall) tells Melanie (Tia Mowry) he knows she's seeing someone at work. Wendy Raquel Robinson also stars in "Stay Fierce, Malik."
